As we pride ourselves on delivering a memorable resort experience during your travels, it seems, although a great star review, we have unfortunately fallen short of our goal during your recent stay. The bar tenders were charming, responsive and the drinks delicious. Dear 649ic: Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback in regards to your recent stay at Sunset Key Cottages. Every night we did a rum tasting at the bar by latitudes restaurant. The spa was closed for COVID, but the tennis courts were open as was the main pool and beach. (Loved the lobster crab cakes and had one every day) We also used the grocery service so we could stock snacks which was great because there aren't that many other snack options on the island. ALso, each night they delivered water and orange juice for the day ahead along with a special treat - may favorite being the sushi styled cupcakes beautifully packaged. The breakfast delivered each morning had the best croissants ever and the muffins were a close second. (Though this would not be an issue if you were placed in the house next door to us.) But, the manager was exceptionally personable and genuinely eager to hear our concerns and make us happy. The view is tiny since they have large trees to block the restaurant. The issue is the beach is hard rock, has no chairs, you can't go in the water because of boat traffic and isn't really private since it fronts the restaurant. The inside was great - spacious, updated and clean. When I explained the house did not match the website description they immediately agreed and provided us a credit for the inconvenience. We rented the four bedroom house with private pool and beach. They handled COVID pretty well in terms of delivering things as we needed them and staff being sensitive to social distancing.
Sunset key cottages restaurant professional#
Right from the start we were impressed with the professional service, the food and the uncrowded environment. Sunset key cottages is a short boat ride away from Key West, but a world of difference in tone and relaxation. There was nothing that I asked for that wasn't delivered. Skipping housekeeping at a beach cottage for five nights is not something I'd repeat. But, do think about your housekeeping requests.
And, the view of the sunset is amazing! The property is taking COVID seriously, which is great. However, we had exceptional service from a server named Ivan, who made the night special with his thoughtful and attentive service. The four of us had dinner there twice and ate a variety of dishes, and although nothing was bad, nothing was very good either. Also, the food at Latitudes is not as good as it could be. The water in the swimming pool is not refreshing, but quite hot. There is some room for improvement, but nothing that would stop us from returning. The property is a great place to relax and spend a few carefree days. We were literally steps from the water in an incredibly comfortable and lovely cottage. My family and I had a wonderful five night stay in an oceanfront cottage.
